Please check that you fulfill the recruitment criteria outlined below. Only candidates that fit the criteria will be considered.

Please complete the application form and return it to the school office with a copy of your latest school report. You may hand deliver the application forms to Clovelly Country Club. (DO NO send the original school report. We will not return these reports under any circumstances).

The deadline for the application forms is Monday, 3 August 2009.

Candidates that meet the recruitment criteria and have satisfactory school reports may be invited for golfing assessments and/or interviews. We expect these sessions will take place sometime between August and October. We will contact you if you are required to attend one or more of these sessions, by phone or letter. We may be able to provide transport to and from these sessions if necessary.

During the later stages of the recruitment process, applicants may need to present a letter of support from their Headmaster. You should not ask your Headmaster for this letter until you are asked to do so.

We will notify unsuccessful candidates in writing.

We expect the recruitment process to be completed by December 2009.

Recruitment criteria

	Are you in grade 6, 7 or 8 , or 12 to 14 years of age?
	Are you from a disadvantaged or economically disadvantaged background?
	Can you demonstrate consistent academic performance with the intention to pass matric?
	Can you give an example of achievement in life through involvement with sporting activities, hobbies, social or church groups, etc.?
	Do you live and attend school within our catchment area of Masiphumelele, Ocean View, Kommetjie, Kalk Bay, Simon’s Town, Sun Valley, Noordhoek & Fish Hoek?
	Can you demonstrate competence in spoken English?
	Do you have a responsible adult involved in your life who can support your participation and progress in the Academy?
	Are you enthusiastic about sport and are you an active participant?
