Apoloisi, a keen runner, regularly jogs around Masiphumlele and Ocean View in his spare time. Recently he was part of the Academy team that played against Reddam House School at Steenberg Golf Club, and he was very, very proud to win his match. Away from the Academy, Apoloisi has a busy home life. Keen to help his mother, he makes her tea on her return from work, helps out by sweeping and washing and is quick at peeling potatoes.

But life does not just revolve around his sporting interests; Jason is also an accomplished artist.

Kelly Ann Wolfvaardt

Previously a Western Cape provincial badminton player, Kelly had to make the hard choice between badminton and golf. Luckily for the Academy, golf won. Studying hard and achieving great marks as she reaches the end of her school career is her number one priority at the moment. Kelly relaxes by playing golf and reading, but still regularly finds time to help her parents around the house.

Her long-term aim is to play golf professionally, ideally including a period in the USA at a prominent golf college. Lauren is inspired by Tiger Woods' focus and hard work at the game, which she knows she will need to emulate if she is to achieve her goals.

Lungelwa works very, very hard to achieve great marks at school as her ambition is to become a doctor. Her spare time is filled with golf, helping around the home and reading; she can often be found at the local library with her head buried in a book. However, Lungelwa does find time to relax by watching sport on television, and she was so excited to watch Siphiwe Tshabalala's awesome goal against Mexico in the first match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup™.

She looks up to rugby great Francois Pienaar (who is one of the Academy's Trustees).

When asked about her key sporting memories, she recalls watching Lauren (a fellow Academy member) holing an amazingly long putt on the 11th at Clovelly Country Club. Simone was so happy she could share Lauren's joy in making such a great shot.
