Ashleigh McKie

ACADEMIC: GRADE 12 Fish Hoek High School

Academic Progress:  Ashleigh has shown focus and determination with her academics in the past year.  She is able to set goals and reach them.  She has a positive approach to her school work which will assist her in post-school studies.  Her most recent grades are not a good reflection of her true ability.

Post School Vision: Ashleigh is interested in sport and fitness and would like to be a fitness trainer.  She completed a two day work shadow in Sport Management Science at UCT and this confirmed her career direction for her.  She plans to enrol at the Health and Fitness Professional Academy (HPFA) for a Higher Certificate course.

LIFE SKILLS: President’s Award Bronze
Ashleigh received a note of thanks from The President’s Award Office complimenting her on her Bronze Portfolio and was also asked to make a speech at the Bronze Award Ceremony. This she did concisely and clearly which was a testament to her studying for Public Speaking as her Skill. For her Silver Skill she is learning the fundamentals of driving. Loving working with children, Ashleigh immersed herself into her community for her Bronze Service Award and will continue to volunteer in Ocean View for her Silver Award at the Feeding Scheme and Safe House.

A natural leader Ashleigh kept an eye on the juniors during The Adventurous Journey in Bronze, making sure all were up to the challenge and being treated fairly. With a smile on her face & natural confidence this young lady organised the juniors and made them feel welcome. Her chosen sport of Golf for Bronze is something which she loves and is continuing to improve on for her Silver. She is looking forward to the Adventurous Camp in April 2017
