ACADEMIC: GRADE 10 Masiphumele High School
Academic Progress: Athuleleni is making good progress. She has recognised the value completing all her work and handing work in on time. She is aware of specific knowledge gaps in her subject areas and makes plans to address these. She is particularly worried about her maths and is putting in extra effort to improve it.
Post-School Vision: Athuleleni is interested in biotechnology. She thinks it will be an exciting career developing new products and making medical breakthroughs. She doesn’t mind a noisy or messy work environment!
GOLF: Handicap
Comment: Athuleleni has improved her knowledge of golf as well as her playing ability. When on the range Athuleleni listens well to instructions but when on-course lessons takes place she struggles to implement her knowledge from the range to her on-course lessons. Athuleleni has the ability to do much better than she is by more practice and focus.
LIFE SKILLS: President’s Award Bronze
Athuleleni received a note from The President’s Award Office congratulating her on her Bronze Portfolio. Her Bronze Community Service working in Masi Educare and a Safe house in the township showed her how by helping others she would be rewarded with a smile and love. She completed 25hours volunteering. For her Silver Award she is working at the Masi Library twice a week helping out in the children’s section teaching them to read, have fun and be safe. She is also working in a Safe House and has so far volunteered for over 50 hours Community work.
Seeing a Golf Course for the very first time at RAGA and learning Golf for her Bronze Sport Section is something Athuleleni thought she would never do coming from a disadvantaged background. She is continuing with improving on her Golf for her Silver Award.
A shy young lady who learned Public Speaking as her Skill in the Bronze Award, Athuleleni has grown so much in both confidence and becoming a team player. Taking on extra studies after school for her Silver Skill Section, she is now improving on her school marks and her English language.
Finding the Adventurous Journey very tough during the Bronze Section where she had to walk 24kms over 2 days and engage in teamwork, Athuleleni is looking forward to the Silver Adventurous Journey in April 2017 where she can put all her skills learnt into practise.
