Lunga Kibi

ACADEMIC: GRADE 11                    Masiphumele High School

Academic Progress:  Lunga has a positive approach to school.  He is conscientious and makes sure he doesn’t lose marks through failing to submit work on time.  Although he is a quiet young man he is willing to ask for help when he needs it.   He is voluntarily having extra English lessons through RAGA.

Post School Vision: Lunga is interested in studying journalism.  He loves to write and tell people’s stories.  He describes himself as a good listener, curious and intent on getting to the bottom of things.  He also sees journalism as a career that will give him a chance to travel.

LIFE SKILLS: President’s Award Bronze
Kibi received a note from The President’s Award Office complimenting him on his Bronze Portfolio. Never being able to swim but loving the ocean, Kibi learnt to swim for his Bronze Skill. Week by week he attended lessons with the biggest smile on his face until he accomplished his mission of swimming. For his Silver Skill, Kibi is learning his driving theory.

Living in a township, Kibi wanted to get involved with the youth and give back to his community. He completed his Community Service section helping with street football training as well as helping in the library and continues to serve for his Silver.

A young man who is gaining in confidence all the time, Kibi found the Adventurous Journey a challenge in getting himself heard. Completing his 24 kms over 2 days Kibi is someone that the juniors look up to and gradually the leadership qualities in Kibi came to the front. He is looking forward to the Silver Adventurous Journey in April 2017 where he can use all his Skills learnt in Bronze. Golf was his chosen sport for his Bronze Award which he is continuing for his Silver Award.
