Nthabiseng Thomas

ACADEMIC: GRADE 9 Masiphumele High School

Academic Progress:  Nthabiseng is really struggling with her school work and is at serious risk of grade failure as her Home Language is under 50% and maths is under 40%.  She still needs to learn how to implement specific learning strategies and set realistically achievable goals for her term.  She needs supervision in completing the termly analysis.  She has a lot of room for growth.

Post-School Vision: Nthabiseng is interested in law because she likes to debate and she is interested in justice.

GOLF: Handicap

Comment: Nthabiseng has improved over the last few weeks. She has developed a natural way of swinging and has gained more strength meaning more distance. At times Nthabiseng lacks determination and because of that she does not perform being it on-course or on the range lessons.Nthabiseng could become a really good golfer and could challenge some of the other juniors only if she works on her attitude.

LIFE SKILLS: President’s Award Bronze

Nthabiseng received a note from The President’s Award thanking her for her detailed Bronze Portfolio of Evidence. Working at The Love and Educare Centre amassing 24 hours of voluntary work Nthabiseng loved working with the babies and young children during her Bronze Award. So much so she has decided to work at a DayCare Creche for her Silver where she can make an impression on the children she comes across. Practising the art of Public Speaking for her Bronze Skill Nthabseng loved speaking in English and now has chosen extra academic lessons for her Silver Section Skill.

Learning Golf for her Bronze Sport section was something that Nthabseng has wanted to do for a long time as she always thought of Golf as a rich, white sport and wanted to change it to be a sport for all. She has decided to continue to improve on Golf for her Silver Award.

Completing her Bronze Adventurous journey of 24kms over 2 days and sleeping in a bunkhouse left Nthabiseng a proud young lady. She attained a lot of personal goals over this time with her physical and mental strength and is looking forward to the Silver Adventure in April 2017.
