Pumelisa Mabula

ACADEMIC: GRADE 11 Masiphumele High School

Academic Progress:  Pumelisa entered the academy later than other seniors and did not have the benefit of properly learning to set and reflect on academic goals or ask for help when needed.  She is not attending tutoring or extra classes.  Pumelisa will probably do better with Maths Literacy and we will discuss making this change at the end of the year.

Post School Vision: Pumelisa is still exploring options for after school however her strengths in English and Tourism may guide her career choice.

GOLF: Handicap

LIFE SKILLS: President’s Award Bronze

Pumi received a note of thanks from The President’s Award Office for her detailed Portfolio.

Working with children is a passion of Pumi’s and for her Bronze Award she volunteered for numerous hours at the township library. Here she helped the children to read, look at books and tidy the library for the residents. This she continues to do for her Silver Award. Her chosen skill for Bronze was catering. This she immersed herself into and found something she is passionate about. For her Silver skill she is looking at furthering her catering skills.

With a smile on her face after having completed 24 kms walking over 2 days for her Bronze Adventurous journey, Pumi realised that getting fit helped her a lot on this challenge. Believing in herself and her peers was a realisation for her on the journey and she continues to grow. Her chosen sport of Golf at Clovelly and the fitness programme assigned alongside it really helped her realise this goal and she is continuing with golf as her chosen sport for her Silver Award.
