Year End Camping trip to the magnificent Cedarberg

The most anticipated event on the RAGA programme is the end of year camping trip to the Cedarberg. In December a 23 strong RAGA group headed to the Sandrift camp site, with 3 vehicles, each towing a trailer full of supplies and equipment for 5 days of camping. Under the guidance of Oom Carel, students were divided into two teams to set up the camp and thereafter take turns to do the cooking, braaing and cleaning each day.

We all enjoyed the Maalgat Pools, jumping off rocks and swimming in temperatures of over 30 degrees. Evening braais , volleyball, soccer games, badminton, campfires , laughter and a visit to the nearby observatory to enjoy the night skies all made up for a memorable trip. For the majority of our students these RAGA trips are their only formal holidays in the year and so these times are especially cherished.
